COLIN FURTH received a star in Hollywood's Walk of Fame last Thursday, and it must have been a karmic effect, as the kibng's speech actor went on to win a Golden Globe Sunday evening, in a warm up for the up coming Oscar race. Firth was nominated last year for an Oscar and a Golden Globe for his performance in A Single Man, for which he won a Screen Actor's Guild Award. Fellow cast member GUY PIERCE was on hand, along with KING'S SPEECH director TOM HOOPER. FIRTH'S star is adjacent to that of EMMA THOMPSON'S, with whom he starred in his American breakout role in Pride and Prejudice. He dedicated the star to his wife, LIVIA who was with him for the ceremony, and the weekend's festivities. Smooth, very smooth.
